LV Version 5.2

EMIS LV is the leading text-based clinical system in the primary care market. Approximately 5,000 GPs currently use EMIS LV. The system offers consultation mode, medical record, search and reports, prescribing and appointments. It is fully integrated with the EMIS knowledge management system, Mentor Library, and the regularly updated Drug Explorer.

EMIS LV is accredited to RFA 99 v1.1.

Population Manager

EMIS LV enables GPs to easily meet the requirements of the new GMS Contract. Population Manager contains a set of approximately 160 searches that extract the information required for the new Contract and present it in an easy to understand format. The software also contains a set of specifically designed Contract templates to aid speedy and standardised data entry. Population manager is an integrated part of EMIS LV.

Version 5.2 is the latest release of EMIS LV. This version offers users:

Microsoft Word integration

Data is seamlessly transferred between EMIS and MS Word enabling the user to easily create patient related letters in MS Word. Documents created in MS Word are saved back into EMIS to create consultation references for simple retrieval.

Cancer referral templates

The NHS Plan requires GPs to produce and fax or e-mail suspected cancer referrals within 24 hours of seeing the patient. These patients must be seen by the Hospital Trust within 14 days, hence the referrals are called 'two week rule referrals'. EMIS has incorporated a suite of Microsoft Word templates for each cancer type into EMIS LV5.2.

Electronic insurance reports

One of the commonest and most time-consuming medical information requests for GPs is the PMA form for the insurance industry. Following discussion between the insurance industry and the medical profession, a common format for General Practitioner Report (GPR) has been agreed and computer-generated reports (eGPR) are accepted by insurers. The eGPR can be generated from within the EMIS system, merging all relevant patient data. The eGPR template is installed by default with LV5.2.

Scanning and attachments

The scanning and attachments module enables you to scan correspondence or digital images and attach them directly to a patient's clinical record. Documents and images are then instantly available during consultation at the touch of a few buttons.
