Convenient for busy families, housebound patients, the elderly or patients in remote locations, Medicine Manager (formerly called ePMS) makes managing repeat prescriptions easier for both patients and practices

  • It means less administration for the practice – resulting in time saved and fewer queues at reception.
  • It’s provides convenient ordering and delivery of repeat medication for patients.

With Medicine Manager, repeat scripts can be authorised electronically from the consulting room, streamlining the process and saving time at the practice. Practices using Medicine Manager have reported real benefits in:

  • reduction in the numbers of patients queuing to request or collect repeat prescriptions

  • new tools to electronically manage repeat prescription requests from patients present at the practice

Benefits for the patient

Patients can order their repeat medication online, via the telephone, or via a freepost address – without having to visit the surgery. Patients can then opt to have their medication delivered to their chosen address free of charge, in association with Pharmacy2U.

Pharmacy2U offers a reminder service that informs the patient when their next prescription is due. Pharmacy2U will also pass on messages from the GP when a patient is required to attend the surgery for a medication review, helping with practice targets.

Implementing Medicine Manager is easy:

  1. Telephone EMIS field operations on 0845 123 4455 or email fieldoperations@e-mis.com
    • EMIS will ensure that the software is activated at your practice
    • EMIS will arrange a free of charge training session to be hosted by an Operations Manager at your practice
  2. Inform patients straightaway: marketing materials will be delivered to you
  3. Start using Medicine Manager – it’s that simple.
